I have been working on a small project in Sturgeon over the past few months that involved subdividing, getting easements and development permits etc. The staff at the Sturgeon County office have been great to deal with. Prompt return of phone calls and emails, in fact usually calling me before I even had to call them. Thank you :)
I wish I could say the same for everyone I have to deal with. I have several Federal Government agencies I deal with on a regular basis and over the course of a full week I am on hold, listening to their 60 second recorded loop over and over, for a total that likely adds up to a full work day. I, of course, put the phone on speaker so as to keep myself busy with paper or computer work while I wait my turn, only to have them disappoint me when they finally do pick up, usually.

Ever wonder what happened to customer service? I bet you have, I know I have. Actually, there is a lot of good people out in the world. The trouble is we tend to remember the negative over the positive. There is no denying that service has changed. The business model behind some of the Big Box stores is volume based over quality.
Even if not always, we are all guilty of being influenced by price on occasion. My experience, when I price shop, the service is sub par and the purchased item is disappointing.
The end result is we have a lingering memory of bad service and buyer remorse.
If it's the purchase of a new TV or Car it's bad enough, your home is unacceptable. In short, choose an agent you like and buy the best house you can afford.
